Q. How do I get access to the Facebook Ads Manager?
Please fill out this form, and we'll set-up your Facebook Manager account.
Q. I requested my access to Facebook Ads Manager, how long does it take for my access to be granted?
It can take up to four business days to receive access to Facebook Ads Manager. If, after four business days, you have not received your access, and you cannot find the email in your spam folder, please email dmnd-support@udacity.com.
Please be sure to check the email you used to register for this course for access to Facebook, as the link will go to that email.
Q. My Facebook Ads Manager invitation was sent to a different email address than the one I use for Facebook. What do I do?
Even though the link for access went to another email, you can choose to use any email you like once you click the link.
Please note that access to Facebook will be sent to the email address used for your Udacity account.
Q. Do I need to add a credit card or pay for Facebook Ads Manager?
You do not need to add a credit card or pay for access to Facebook Ads Manager. As a Digital Marketing Nanodegree program student, you are granted access and provided a budget to a shared Udacity Facebook Ads Manager Account (for up to 30 days) to complete your Facebook project.
Q. How do I manage the notifications I receive from Facebook Ads Manager?
You’ll want to uncheck notifications to ensure you are not bombarded with emails anytime someone adds or updates something in the Campaign Manager. Please note that some students have needed to uncheck each notification separately.
The notifications can be turned ON/OFF at two levels - Ad Notification Settings and Business Notification Settings. Detailed steps are given here.
Q. How do I search for my campaign?
Please follow these instructions to find your campaign:
- To search for your campaign, click on the triangle next to the 'Search' on the upper right side of the screen.
- Then, select 'Campaign Name' from the Search By dropdown menu.
- Next, you'll type your Student ID in the space provided.
Q. My campaign looks like it was deleted. What do I do?
Unfortunately, given the shared nature of the account, students have mistakenly deleted other students campaigns from time to time. The Digital Marketing Nanodegree team is currently working on ways to make sure this doesn't happen in the future.
If your campaign was deleted before it ran or you have more than 50% of your budget left, please go ahead a rebuild your campaign. We know it can be frustrating, but it's also a really great learning experience (and some students do it on purpose just to practice).
Q. What happens if I edit/delete someone else's campaign?
We are proud to offer projects that allow to run live campaigns on both Facebook to ensure that the experience with these tools is positive for every DMND student.
Please note that if it is reported and confirmed that you have deleted or altered another student’s account on any of the external tools, your DMND subscription may be canceled without a refund.
Q. How do I take my screenshots for Project 3?
Here are the steps for taking your screenshots:
Go to the Ads Manager, find your campaign, click on it and then click 'edit' on the Ad Set and take all the screenshots. You need to provide:
- The targeting settings
- The required settings that you'd otherwise see in the Order Summary.

- Then, go to the Ads Tab, take a screenshot that shows the three or more images (if you do the eBook project).
